However, If Your Chair Is In Good Condition And Has a Shiny, Slick Surface hen You Should Sand Them Slightly. Roughing Up The Surface Will Help Your Paint To Stick Nicely.

    ii) Cleaning The Chair:

After Sanding Chair All The Debris and Dirt Must Be Removed from the chair. If there are any stains or grease spots on the chair they must be removed with the grease remover followed by water.

Ensure all the stains are removed from the chair then let it dry for some time before painting. Improper washing and drying can create bubbles or circles on your paint surface.

   iii) Filling Cracks Or Holes:

If there are any holes or cracks in the chair it is necessary to fill those holes, cracks, or dents otherwise the paint will get stuck in these holes and will create defects in the paint.
For filling use wood putty and fill it with the help of a putty knife or similar tools. Make sure the color of your filler matches the color of the wood. You can also use vinyl spackling for this purpose. After filling the holes clean all extra debris or waste or once it is dried sand the filled area with fine-grit sandpaper.

Step#3: Apply the Primer:

Before applying the paint it's good to apply primer. Primer helps to seal the surface and provides a better base for your paint to adhere. Primer gives a smooth appearance to your wood.

A Primer is a water-based product that gives a protection layer for latter coats. Apply a smooth layer of primer at the surface including all of your filling pores and let it dry for some time.

Step#4: Cover The Area With Paint Shelters:

It Is crucial to cover the whole area with drop clothes and paint shelters to avoid any paint spots in surrounding areas. You can also use an extra piece of cloth for this purpose.

Drop down the piece of cloth and place your chair in the mid of the cloth. Now it's ready to apply paint on it.

Step#5: Apply the First Coat:

Now when your chair is ready to apply any paint select an appropriate paint, paint color, and paint brushes to start your work.

You must hold the brush loosely rather than tightly because it can tire you. Also, move from your armpit rather than from your hand and elbow for gentle and broad strokes.

Dip your paintbrush into the paint, remove any extra paint, and apply the brush on the surface back and forth keeping in mind the wood grains and the previously painted surface. Paint the whole chair from the front and then apply the paint from the backside and at the legs properly.

Step#6:  Apply Additional Coat:

Every paint is different from the other and takes a different time to dry. It also depends on the climate condition if you are working outdoors.

keeping in view all the conditions let your paint first coat be dried then put the other one for best results. If your First coat is still wet and you put the next one then it can form bubbles on the surface so avoid it. Apply the next coat in the same manner you have done with the first.

Step# 7: Finishing touch and sealing:

Sealing involves adding or applying a protective layer to your paint. It offers resistance to wear and tear and provides a smoother finish. It helps to seal and protect the painted surface from moisture, stains, and other potential damage
